Jiang Xingzhi, the notorious little troublemaker known throughout the Ninefold Immortal Realm.
Not only was he born with a face as beautiful as jade, he was also exceptionally gifted.
And he was personally chosen as a disciple by Venerable Chen Chuan, Qi Xun, who had slain the Demon King a hundred years ago and indulged him without restraint.
Until one day, rumors spread.
The master and disciple had broken ties. Jiang Xingzhi cursed Qi Xun as a shameless scoundrel with ulterior motives, and even slapped him before leaving.
The Immortal Realm erupted in an uproar, with everyone speculating.
It all began with a bizarre, absurd prophetic dream.
None of it was real.
He was nothing but a substitute.
The care was fake. The indulgence was fake.
The only real thing was Qi Xun's near-mad obsession with his white moonlight.
Was Jiang Xingzhi supposed to put up with that?
He woke with a start, had a huge fight with Qi Xun, cut ties, and made a clean getaway to the demon realm, where miasma hung thick in the air.
Whoever wanted to be this white-moonlight substitute could have the job!
Life in the demon realm was carefree and free, but there was one thing Jiang Xingzhi found very strange.
Though he had not removed his disguise, the demon beasts treated him with exceptional respect.
One day, by chance, he overheard them muttering to themselves, apparently calling him...
The Demon Queen...?
Unable to resist his curiosity any longer, Jiang Xingzhi slipped into the Demon King's palace under cover of darkness.
The spacious hall was draped in black silk from wall to wall.
Bored, Jiang Xingzhi casually lifted one of the black cloths.
The next moment, his breath caught.
Beneath the cloth were paintings, sensual and outrageous, depicting the two figures entwined in intimate poses.
And the faces in the paintings were unmistakably his and Qi Xun's.
Jiang Xingzhi stumbled backward in shock, only to bump into a warm body behind him.
Qi Xun had always considered his life smooth and carefree, from his time as ruler of the demon clan to becoming Venerable Chen Chuan of the Immortal Realm. There was nothing he wanted that he couldn't get.
Except one person: Jiang Xingzhi.
When he emerged from seclusion back then and heard that Jiang Xingzhi had died without leaving so much as a body behind,
Qi Xun stroked his sword and said nothing for a long, long time.
Over the next forty-nine days, the Ninefold Immortal Realm ran red with blood, and the world was turned upside down.
Qi Xun had never believed in the Way of Heaven or the Great Way. But when he saw Jiang Xingzhi, returned to his childhood form, amid the sea of blood, he felt grateful to fate for the first time.
He took Jiang Xingzhi as his disciple and kept him close, caring for him tenderly as he watched him grow from a young child into the lawless little menace of the Ninefold Immortal Realm.
But now it seemed the little devil in his home had gotten the wrong idea about something.
Qi Xun wrapped an arm around Jiang Xingzhi's waist.
A tender kiss landed beside his ear, making the person in his arms shiver. Qi Xun teased him with wicked amusement: "Wouldn't you like to take a closer look? Weren't you curious about who my white moonlight is?"
"Hmm? My dear disciple?"
"Or would you like to slap your master again?"
"My white moonlight?"
