As an orphan who had just lost her adoptive mother, Annie was lucky enough to be adopted by a countess.
But she was born unable to understand emotions. People called her an idiot with something wrong in her head, a heartless demon.
Just then, Annie gained a Chef God System.
Annie, whose adoptive mother had discovered her talent for painting and raised her to become an artist: ...
What kind of food can instantly lift your spirits, make you burst into tears in a second, cure illnesses, or let you see ghosts? Is this really a normal Chef God System?
But when the countess's health worsened day by day, Annie finally cooked something herself and tried it: ...How can it taste this awful?
The System, sweating profusely: Haha, it may not taste good, but at least it works!
The countess, who had been fed a lovingly prepared meal and was now wearing an expression of pure agony: ...Annie really cares about me, but ugh, this tastes awful!
But the countess really did start getting better!
Everyone said Annie's paintings had no soul. Because she had no feelings, she was destined to be a failed artist.
But with the dishes she made using the Chef God System, Annie could see ghosts, fairies, and magic, and paint scenes unlike anything this world had ever seen.
Everyone called her a lunatic with something wrong in her head, a witch who had stepped into the world of demons, yet those who ate her food began recovering one by one.
Then Annie fell into the water and lost her memory. She met Chopin, who had also fallen in and lost his memory while trying to save her.
Mistaken for lovers who had eloped, Annie was utterly confused. Bewildered, she used her cooking skills to save her "boyfriend," whose health was growing increasingly frail.
By the time they were found, the two were already married.
Chopin's friend came looking for him and was shocked. "But Chopin has always had a crush on a lady! How could he possibly marry you?"
Chopin, his memories restored, smiled happily. "Annie is the person I've been looking for all along. She's the one whose meal saved me and my sister!"
Chopin's friend, after tasting Annie's cooking: ...Ugh! Chopin, you must truly be in love with Annie!
As Annie learned to understand emotions, her paintings grew better and better. But the Chef God System, which had saved her after she fell into the water, still hadn't recovered.
To earn Fame Points and save the System, Annie decided to hold an art exhibition and give away cookies she had baked herself, making every guest taste them and praise them.
The guests, who had eaten the awful cookies but seen the beautiful paintings: ...Ugh! Absolutely delicious!
Annie smiled.
After everyone discovered that the cookies really could cure illnesses, nobody complained about Annie's unusual hobby anymore. They just wanted to say, "Dear Miss Winter, please hold more exhibitions and give away more treats. We'll all say they're delicious!"
At last, the rescued System watched its Chef God Fame Points soar and fell into deep thought: Can a chef who is always told their food tastes awful really be called a Chef God?
P.S. The CP is Chopin, the famous pianist. Since I'm writing fanfiction about a historical figure, of course I'll be making major changes to history, so this is a semi-alternate universe.
