Dreams of Rivers and Mountains Past

[Let's survive, and stay together forever]

Sensitive, aloof, tsundere, cold-faced-cute bottom × wealthy, sunny, guiding top | Bottom's POV | Happy ending | Both strong | Cold-faced cute × shamelessly affectionate | Mild infinite-flow elements later on

I don't hate women. I don't hate women. I don't hate women. Every woman I write has her own irreplaceable strengths.

I don't pander to men. I don't pander to men. I don't pander to men...

Do you believe in ghosts and gods? Do you know that evil people live a thousand years?

Shen Tingyan had always thought he was a superhero, with incredible powers straight out of a cartoon.

It wasn't until he was told he was destined to die that he felt as if fate had hit him like a truck.

It turned out the ability he'd thought was his golden finger since childhood had long since been assigned a price.

Good news: He'd have a rich backer and more money than he could ever spend.

Bad news: He might not live long enough to spend it.

This world was a complete disaster, especially with Gu Sui, who'd stuck to him like a piece of flypaper ever since they first met.

...Wait, what?

Was his rich backer harboring feelings for him that he shouldn't have?

Love at first sight, like in the stories?

"Gu Sui, respect other people's fate. Stop bothering me."

"Gu Sui, respect other people's fate. If you follow me, you'll die."

"Gu Sui, you have to survive."

"Gu Sui, please don't die..."

Shen Tingyan didn't know why he couldn't be more firm. When Gu Sui confessed, he "without hesitation" rejected him to prove his resolve.

"What good would being with me do you?"

Gu Sui smiled brightly. "It'd turn dying in the line of duty into dying for love."

The uncanny appeared more and more often. Who could understand the mysteries of ghosts and gods? Countless times, they joined hands and ventured into Death's domain, escaping with their lives by the skin of their teeth.

It turned out that not only his golden finger, but everything else had its cause and its consequences.

They held firm until they broke, then rallied again. Thank goodness you were always by my side.

At last, Shen Tingyan faced his feelings and accepted that he was gay.

Well, having a piece of flypaper stuck to his side wasn't so bad.

Fine... To hell with fate, to hell with ghosts and gods. If we want to survive, there's nothing in this world worth fearing.

Shen Tingyan cut down a crowd of skeletons in one swing, while Gu Sui stood back-to-back with him.

"Do you regret it?"

"Never." Gu Sui flirted with him at the worst possible time. "I love you."

We will bring peace to a prosperous age.

We will become the last ones to face fear head-on...

We will meet again in a tomorrow without darkness, and stay by each other's side.

Theme: Keep moving forward through a seemingly endless war, and together we will reach a tomorrow without darkness.
