I'm Lin Yue, a modern-day office drone. My only problem is the "prophecy notebook" at home. Whenever it updates with an angsty plot, my luck turns rotten that very day.
Then the male lead suffering in the notebook, Mo Xiaojiu, showed up in my living room, covered in sword wounds.
I stared at him. He looked at the passage in the notebook that said, "A Yue kills Mo Xiaojiu." The atmosphere became suffocating.
Now we're stuck in a "bad-luck mutual aid alliance." I help him avoid all sorts of dangers in modern society, including but not limited to traffic police, health codes, and gas stoves.
He helps me fend off the real-world misfortune brought on by the notebook, using his light-footed kung fu to catch the subway and his sword skills to... open packages.
We both want to get rid of each other, until a new message appears in the notebook: "The writer shares the same fate as the characters. The story is not over, and neither is the curse."
Fine, mysterious "author" hiding behind the fabric of time. You win.
Now my assassination target and I have decided to find you together and have a little talk about life.
