[The Final Battlefield]
Yan Xiuyan: "I'm sorry, Xie Weiheng. I'm afraid I won't make it back this time, and I've left you a widower for nothing."
Xie Weiheng, arriving at the scene just in time: "You'd better hang on. If you die, I'll ask Liu Lan for a potion to erase my feelings and forget you."
Yan Xiuyan: "That might be for the best."
[After Yan Xiuyan returns...]
Yan Xiuyan: "In the end, I should thank you. At least I got to experience what it's like to be left with no one. But now you're the one who's all alone!"
Li Xiang: "Yan Xiuyan! You think you've won, don't you? You've become just like your parents, and your ending won't be any better than theirs! People like you are destined to die young!"
Yan Xiuyan: "I'm not my parents, and I won't die young. Your judgment is only just beginning!"

Theme: The complex relationship between confidants and rivals in the arena of power
I read a very long story that should be very complex, but at the same time relatively simple. It's very long because I watched it too short. The deeper bonds between the characters have not yet unfolded, and the plot has reached a place where I have not yet seen the outline. It's complicated, probably because there are so many characters and stories in just nine chapters, and the relationships between them are quite tangled. After reading it for the third time, it became relatively clear. To put it simply, it is probably because each character appears without any prerequisites and appears at the node that promotes the plot. It feels a little abrupt, and it feels like watching a short play at first. It should be because this seems to be a long novel, with more than 800,000 words written, so in the first few chapters, the character development is relatively thin. This is not the author's fault, but should be based on the consideration of the overall story. However, I still saw a very exciting story. At first, I thought the fourth prince and Yan Xiuyan were CPs. The first sentence of the novel as a foreshadowing should be the most obvious foreshadowing I have ever seen. It ended abruptly with the sentence that the protagonist was dead. Everyone knew that he might die in the end. Later, the male protagonist Xie Weiheng and the villain Li Xiang appeared. There were so many plots packed into the first few chapters that I was dazzled and read it several times. It felt like a short drama. The rebellion was quick. Li Xiang was quick to bring his concubines to court. The general went to Dali Temple to pick up people very quickly. The emperor, the queen mother and the eldest princess were also quick to use tricks to marry Xie Weiheng. It made people laugh. The general finally accepted the marriage offer, but immediately regretted it and asked the emperor to cancel the engagement. Why did he cancel the engagement? Judging from the subsequent plot, he did not hate Xie Weiheng at all. He could act coquettishly at any time and even accepted it in his heart. The logic of the character's actions jumped a bit. However, the flaws are not to be concealed, and it is still a wonderful story. The novel randomly describes the utensils, characters' clothes, furniture, etc. Which are very elegant. These are not common in current online novels, which is good. The author should continue his inertia in naming the characters. In the ancient setting, the young minister of Dali Temple is called Fu Siyue, and he instantly travels to the wealthy president of the imperial capital. The national master is called Yan Jinchuan. The affectionate male lead in the president's novel has a sense of familiarity, and it is easy to skip the scene. I suggest you modify it. Of course, the author may also have his own considerations. The novel's era background is imaginary, and we can see the shadow of Ming and the shadow of Qing, both of which can be blended together. Around Chapter 13 or 14, the relationship between Yan Xiuyan and Xie Weiheng heats up rapidly, and flirting and teasing are readily available. Yan Xiuyan's emotions are almost completely different from those described in the previous chapters. The character's personality transitions too quickly. In the front, he is a mighty and relatively deep-minded general, and in the back, he becomes a completely gentle and playful character. He has a lot of experience in coquettishness and teasing, and looks a little separated. For a long novel, the character's growth period should be consistent, without repetition, logically self-consistent, and without drama. The characters in the novel move in and out of words quickly, which may cause certain reading difficulties for readers. They need to read forward repeatedly to understand the logic of the characters' actions. This will make readers collapse and may gradually give up reading. In the end, I only saw Chapter 14, which is about 50,000 words long, so it is inevitable that I will only scratch the surface and overgeneralize. I wrote some experiences in the manner of a blind man touching an elephant, which can be used as a reference or not. In fact, there are a thousand Hamlets in the hearts of a thousand people. There is no unified standard for reading, just like radish and green vegetables, everyone has their own preferences. It is not easy to write hundreds of thousands of words. I wish the author to keep writing and make history.
The author is here to say Happy New Year to readers!!! Thanks for all the love!!!
I'm coming, come on, Xu Sha 🤩
When will the prologue be updated? I'm still waiting for the end to read [Hold my thighs]
Why did you kiss so quickly after locking it?
Having read so much first, here are my personal reflections, for reference only (read the faster version): First of all, there can be blank lines between paragraphs. Spacing makes it easier to read. Otherwise, it will be densely packed together with so many words, which is a bit trypophobic. Secondly, the detailed descriptions of the characters' movements, demeanor, language, etc. Are very consistent with the characters' personalities, and the characters are portrayed very well. However, I feel that the plot line develops slowly. There are several chapters about the marriage grant [question mark], and the emotional line is also slowly developing (Did Xie like Yan first?) In the end, I feel that Da Da loves the characters he writes so much. He worked hard to write this article. Come on, Da Da. I wish you a happy life 🐶
Do you dare to update ten chapters in one day? It scares me to death 🐶
