The two people in the entertainment industry least likely to fall in love are forced to sign the same romance contract.
Lu Jingchen, a graceful and gentle senior actor, calculates every smile to perfection. Liang Rui, a sunny, carefree rising star, has defiance written in every glance. They are the entertainment world's unspoken "rivals in love," secretly competing for the same girl. At every public event, they are politely distant, with sparks flying between them.
Then a highly anticipated BL drama casts them together. The director says, "I want you to make every step from hatred to love feel real."
And so the set becomes a battlefield:
He mocks the other's "perfect mask," and the other fires back with "reckless childishness";
He deliberately flubs their kissing scenes, and the other rinses his mouth the moment an intimate scene ends;
They hold scripts for a romance, acting out the sweetest moments, while genuine resistance shows in their eyes.
But as their on-screen embraces become harder to tell from the real thing, and their off-screen concern quietly crosses the line, one day Liang Rui pins Lu Jingchen against the dressing-room wall, his breath burning hot. "Teacher Lu, can you tell which words are lines and which are me really wanting to kiss you?"
Lu Jingchen takes off the gentle mask he has always worn and brushes his fingertips over Liang Rui's Adam's apple. "Then can you tell whether I'm acting, or using the scene as an excuse to indulge you?"
The first page of the script they received: We are rivals in love.
The last page: Please fall in love with me.
