[Western Crossover] My Character-Changing Ability Is a Huge Hit in America

It's the season of empty promises again. Someone leaked that the crown had been claimed by a character with the word "woman" in her name.

Your jealousy exploded, and you died full of resentment.

When you opened your eyes again, you discovered you had come to the legendary Gotham, and even awakened a System.

The System said your allotted lifespan hadn't run out in your previous life, so you shouldn't have died so soon.

But what was done was done, so it would make it up to you by giving you a smooth and happy life.

But what decent person gets to live a smooth and happy life in Gotham?

You silently objected.

After a long standoff, the System finally relented and said it would apply for a chance for you to gain a superpower.

But only the strongest obsession you'd had in life could awaken it.

And the greatest obsession you'd had in life was, of course...

You gained the [Character-Editing Ability].

Its special trait was that you could change any name into a form containing the character for woman.

Heartbroken, you walked down the street, angrily wondering what on earth had happened.

Then you saw the colorful balloons in the sky, and heard a sharp, manic laugh in your ear.

You understood.

There was a tremendous boom in the sky, and a pale-faced man turned into a girl with an even paler face.

You had successfully figured out how to use this ability.

Some unknown entity sent you a tip.

But you didn't stop to look, because the night belonged to the bats. You were just trying to get by, not land on the local vigilantes' watch list.

What you didn't know was that after this battle, you had made a name for yourself throughout the world of villains.

Villains everywhere were terrified of you.

On the streets, everyone who saw you would respectfully call you: [***]

1. My own timeline. The protagonist starts out as an ordinary bystander, with limited involvement in some events.

2. The ability doesn't appear very often, usually only two or three times per arc.

3. Because there's a System, the protagonist has a lot of internal monologue.

4. The protagonist has no sex organs and is the gender of an attack helicopter, so the character profile is a little green. (I don't know how to explain it. In short, you can try to think of it in terms of a robot.)

5. The four-letter game is only referenced for jokes. No characters from it will appear.

"Necromancer in Gotham"

Edgar, a great sage-level necromancer, was reborn in an explosion after a failed experiment, and from the start was delighted to move into Wayne Manor as a five-year-old child.

After recovering his memories from his previous life, by day he was a well-behaved little boy, bullied by his nasty older brothers, and by night he was an evil wizard who snuck out to collect undead for experiments.

But why were these undead so strange?

A humble farmer torn apart by a tornado, a haggard woman trapped in place by the power of time and space, a genius scientist couple who died in a car accident...

And why did the woman wearing a pearl necklace always look at him so fondly?

But it was fine. Our great mage was best at putting things to good use, and sooner or later he would make this black magic outfit thrive.

Every night, Edgar diligently went out to collect undead so he could regain his strength and rebuild his own skeleton army as soon as possible. Since he wasn't strong enough yet to put away all the undead bound to him, Edgar tried to dig a hole and hide them underground.

But why was everything under Gotham already hollow?

Unwilling to give up, Edgar tried digging under other cities, too. He found a counter-Kryptonian lab +1, a Hydra base +1...

At last, one day, Edgar's ability to use black magic was exposed.

Heh heh, tremble with fear! Quake in terror! Your malice will only become nourishment for me, making me stronger!

Bruce: ...

Jason: If you're sick, take your medicine.

Damian: Tt. Can you bring the dead back to life? Interesting.

Tim: I'm serious. You'd better stay away from Damian's grandfather.

The girls: Hey, we've got a great betting pool. Come guess whose parents he'll dig up next!

Author's note: Sorry, the author's terrible blurb-writing skills are out in full force. In short, it's a story about a foolish mage summoning the parents of superheroes (and supervillains), making up for the regrets they share, and everyone eventually gathering to make dumplings together.
