After retiring from the entertainment industry, Meng Yinghan became a piano teacher at a university. During the summer before he was due to be promoted to associate professor, he agreed to appear on a failing music competition show to return a favor and fill out the roster. He was supposed to be eliminated in the first round, but after competing for several episodes, he was still in the running and his popularity had even risen. Meng Yinghan called a halt in a panic. "This has to be rigged. Please, I need to go back. If I don't, I'll miss not only next semester's lesson plans, but the deadline for my associate professor review, too."
His newly crowned actor ex-husband: "Want to make a comeback? I'll help you!"
Meng Yinghan: "Thanks, but no thanks. Stay away from me."
His new popular young boyfriend: "You're not going to see this through with me? That's okay, I'll sit in on a master class at your university."
Meng Yinghan: "Please, don't come!"
New offers poured in from every direction. Meng Yinghan rejected your rejection of him, and his phone was nearly crashing.
The personnel secretary in the department office said sourly, "Professor Meng, are you still coming back to apply for associate professor?"
