I'm not good at writing blurbs, so here's a simple overview. My personal writing style: this story unfolds from multiple perspectives, and the plot is a slow burn. I'm trying to create the Gotham I envision.
Give it a try, you have nothing to lose. I hope you enjoy it.
I wrote a little blurb on a whim. Not sure if it works:
Ella Edens knows what the East End is.
It's a den of drug dealers, prostitutes, gangs, and homeless people. It's Gotham's rotting gut, a corner untouched by Batman's shadow.
Jason Todd knows what the East End is.
It's a breeding ground for violence, a cradle of hatred, and the battlefield he chose after crawling back from hell. He wants to build order with blood and fear, to take revenge on this city.
Until he meets Ella Edens.
In Gotham, good people don't live long, and neither do good things. In the East End, being "good" is a death sentence, and "hope" is a luxury.
What began as unspoken calculations made them allies, accomplices, and the points by which each could confirm that the other was still "alive" in this mire.
The East End is still a complete mess, and they guard that little stretch of docks. In nights woven with blood and fire, they try to build a lie about "tomorrow."
They decide to keep that lie from breaking too soon.
We're not trying to build a paradise. We're only trying to make hell look a little more like a place for people to live. We might both die on this road, and this city might never get better.
But at least in this moment, I know this:
I'm not alone in fighting the darkness of the whole world.
A light, a fire, a comrade who knocks on the door in the dead of night. Someone who will reach out and catch the other before they fall apart.
This is the most extreme kind of romance Gotham can give rise to:
Finding someone destined to walk beside you in a war destined to end in failure.
And so even failure itself becomes bearable.
You could call it an ensemble story, told from multiple perspectives. That's just how I write. It includes some depictions of violence, poverty, and death.
Gotham will change in this story, but only later. It's a very slow burn.
Both leads are morally gray. They're not saints. If you do good deeds in Gotham, your hands are bound to be dirty, meow.
Please add it to your collection, meow!
Theme: Building.
When I was reading "Thirteen Invitations" today, I saw what Mr. Xu Zhuoyun said about the way out for the United States: a small community comes together to do something, collectively makes a list, and can go to whoever needs it. It is self-sufficient and does not ask for help. It reminds me of the East District Pier described by the author. "Since there is no help from God, there are only two roads, one is from the upper level to the lower level, and the other is from the lower level to the upper level."
The Joker doesn't have to be as showy as a flea, or he can secretly arrange crises. It's just because of his ego that he longs for distinction and attention, which makes him always chirping. In the past, the Joker in the Arkham series was always broadcasting and it was really annoying [covering face and laughing] I think normal clowns are scarier than crazy clowns [Pigeon] Just like the two colors red and white in the conventional sense, red generally represents crisis and blood, and white always reminds people of solemnity and sanctity. But sometimes if you think about it carefully, the meaning of white is more terrifying than red (the reality is also the same [covering face and laughing]
I'm convinced, really. "It's not... Is" throughout the chapter, seriously?
The first official confrontation between the two was eventually interrupted by the clown. The clown always intervened and put himself and bat aside, although the two people confronting him almost forgot about him as a prop.
It's okay, Americans fight like this
Omg, I almost forgot that Harleen Quinzel was seduced into Harley Quinn during her Tim period. At the beginning, I was still wondering why it was so easy to put Harley in. Boss, I wonder if something like this happened years ago. Haha, my boss actually said that the project should be completed before the end of the year. It was also a period of crazy work. All the factories in the industrial sector were released, but our company was the only one who treated us like black slaves [rolling eyes] I hope everything goes well 🤗
This kind of training is unlikely to be quick, it is too comprehensive. Even after leaving the army, will A-Ba have two Robins? Double Robin, double happiness [orange candy] got [purple candy] kswl
It's true that the fight scenes are a bit slow-motion, but I feel like fights in American TV series have always been turn-based, which is okay. The flavor of Battong Confrontation is very right 😳 I'm still waiting for you boss, just take your time, just watch if you can 😳
Alas, it's a pity that we didn't kill the clown QAQ, but as a big boss, he must be very tough. By the way, is the volume of The Rise of the Red Hood coming to an end soon? After all, B discovered it.
Omg it's actually updated! I worked overtime yesterday until it was dark and I didn't see anything The boss's health and work are priority, he can definitely wait 😳 Although this chapter does not write about the Harlequin directly, the undercurrent of tension and oppression under the bat family's vigilante work comes to my face. It feels like the boss has been working hard for a few days [covering his face and peeking]
