Born into a beast world with far more males than females, Leona has this to say: As a beautiful, healthy female lion beastperson, it's not too much to ask for my mates to be lion beastpeople like me, exceptionally skilled in combat, and perfect in personality, is it?
As for being grown for years and still not having found someone she likes, Leona insists her standards aren't too high. The male lions are simply too useless!
Her friends and family all urge Leona to lower her standards and be realistic. The perfect male she dreams of doesn't exist.
Leona: Even if I die, I will never lower my standards for a mate!
Leona really does die.
She dies in a clash between the lion and elephant tribes.
The other adult females are protected by their mates, and the younger females by their parents. She is all alone, unable to endure the harsh conditions, and takes her final breath.
When she opens her eyes again, she sees two pairs of yellow, polygonal lights.
Two entirely red, humanoid beings call out to her: Are you okay?
Leona looks at the strange humanoid beings before her and faints again.
Astra: Leo, she fainted again!
Leo: Maybe you look too scary, Astra.
Astra: But we look almost exactly alike!

I want to write a story about the lion brothers.
I've always liked Astra, but I've never been able to find stories about him that I enjoy.
Lots of personal headcanons, so the characters may be very out of character. If that bothers you, please don't read.
