Gentle, levelheaded good girl vs. old-fashioned, paternalistic daddy from Beijing's elite circles
Responsible only to readers on Jinjiang
Song Shengyu, the eldest son of the Song family, is known in their circle as an icy mountain.
He always seems aloof and distant, uninterested in women.
Even when women try to seduce him with their looks, he remains unmoved.
Wen Zhiyun has always been somewhat afraid of this so-called heir. Luckily, the man she was engaged to was his younger brother,
Song Anning, whose personality was the complete opposite.
Wen Zhiyun had assumed that her only social contact with Song Shengyu would be the usual New Year visits. She never expected Song Anning not to show up on their wedding day.
A message had just come in from her boyfriend, Song Anning.
"Let's postpone the wedding. Wanwan isn't feeling well, and we're already on a plane to Paris."
Wen Zhiyun felt the blood in her body turn cold. Standing at the wedding venue, she felt truly desperate for the first time.
As she stood alone with no one to turn to, a man in a tailored suit leaned against the doorway. His long-fingered hand rested lazily at the edge of his trouser pocket. Without any particular expression, he said calmly,
"I can marry you."
And so, while Wen Zhiyun stood there, bewildered and at a loss, the groom at the wedding was replaced.
On their wedding night, they reached an unspoken agreement:
1. Play the part of a loving couple in front of others.
2. Don't interfere in each other's affairs at home.
Wen Zhiyun always thought their marriage was merely an exchange of benefits. She never expected Song Shengyu to be so considerate and attentive to her after they married, until one day her ex-boyfriend, back from a trip, cornered her in a parking lot.
The man knelt on one knee and begged her to get back together.
Song Shengyu showed no reaction at the time.
But that night, after getting drunk, he pinned Wen Zhiyun against the wall, his gaze dark and inscrutable.
Wen Zhiyun nervously closed her eyes, expecting him to lose his temper, but all she received was a restrained kiss on the forehead.
"Zhiyun, I won't force you."
"But could you love me, just once?"
Marriage first, love later / putting scumbags in their place / sweet romance
Please read the following content warnings:
There is no romantic foundation at the beginning. Both leads are virgins. The heroine initially dates the second male lead, so please don't read if you dislike that.
The characters are not perfect!
After thinking it over, I've decided to save the previous blurb for when I'm more mature, since I can't write it yet. Thank you for liking it. Feel free to follow my Weibo for updates!
