While carrying out a mission on Central Avenue, He Fei'er caught a thief. That was nothing unusual. Every day, plenty of stowaways came to the capital planet in search of hope. What was strange was that this thief was a male insect.
Before the Male Insect Protection Association arrived, the commanding officer told He Fei'er to conduct a brief interrogation. He Fei'er asked curiously, "Why did you do this? Every male insect I know can live an easy life. Why do something so dangerous and damaging to your reputation?"
Staan looked up calmly. "Because you stole my life as an insect."
After checking the facts from every angle, He Fei'er discovered that everything Staan said was true. Staan should have been the heir to the Roden family. He Fei'er was the fake young master, switched at birth by a malicious insect.
He Fei'er found the whole thing absurd. Even more absurdly, Staan's biological female parent refused to acknowledge him, because He Fei'er had already been elected deputy legion commander, and revealing the two insects' identities now would harm the family's interests.
He Fei'er secretly brought Staan away. "Would you be willing to come with me? I'll give you a new identity and a better life."
Staan asked, "Are you sure, Legion Commander? Can I still trust anyone from the Roden family?"
He Fei'er said, "I swear it on my life."
Staan nodded softly. He Fei'er was nothing like the child raised by an ambitious schemer. He was kindhearted as a fool. If that was the case, using him a little wouldn't be too much to ask, would it?
