Xu Le is a socially responsible young man who doesn't believe in supernatural nonsense. Then one day, a Taoist priest suddenly shows up, claiming to be his fiance and moving into his home without an invitation.
The priest is handsome, cool, cocky, tall, and long-legged. He certainly doesn't look like a proper Taoist priest.
But most importantly, Xu Le is straight. Why would a straight man have a fiance?!
Unfortunately, the priest is far too good at fighting. Xu Le is a helpless weakling in front of him, and the little ghosts the priest summons scare him into screaming for his parents and clinging to the priest for help. And so the Taoist priest moves in with him, just like that.
Actually, aside from being a little "doglike" in temperament, a little too poor, and having a bunch of disciples and grand-disciples following Xu Le around and calling him "Grandmaster's Wife," he's not a bad person. At least he's saved Xu Le's life plenty of times.

Xu Le looks at him. "Do you have a clear conscience when you ask if you've been good to me?"
He Qingxuan says, "What have I done to feel guilty about?"
Xu Le points at his heart. "Who was it who once said that as long as I called his name, no matter how far away he was or what hardships stood in his way, he would appear by my side?"
For a moment, both of them are lost in thought.
The past rushes back like a surging tide.
"Do you know the most powerful spell in the world?"
Xu Le taunts the ghosts and takes a deep breath.

"Help!"
The next second, the roof caves in.
