The Assassin Princess Consort Is a Little Cold

# A Serious, Stoic-Faced Yet Adorable Assassin and a Beautiful, Cunning, Alluring Princess

Blurb:

Lan is the greatest assassin in the martial world. If she wants to leave the Stormwind Tower and retire, however, there is no way out but death.

Her destiny seemed set, until an unexpected rescue of the Third Princess, Ling Tiancheng, sent her life down an unknown path.

The exalted Third Princess not only paid a fortune to the Stormwind Tower to secure Lan's release, but also invited her into the royal residence and treated her as an honored guest.

Faced with this deadly blade whom everyone feared, the princess not only slept soundly at night, but even invited her to share a bed.

This... was improper.

Lan was so uneasy under such generous hospitality that she had no idea how to repay it. All she could do was ask solemnly, "Your Highness, who would you like me to kill?"

The Third Princess did not answer. She lounged languidly against the tea table beside the daybed, as if she had no bones.

Her red lips curled into a smile, and she asked with pointed meaning, "Do you know that one should repay a life-saving favor by giving oneself to one's rescuer?"

Lan immediately replied with respectful earnestness, "If Your Highness has need of me, I would gladly give my life."

The princess pressed a hand to her forehead in exasperation. Her limpid, peach-blossom eyes swept over the assassin kneeling ramrod straight, full of both reproach and affection.

"You fool."

Lan lowered her head, not daring to look directly at her. She could only hear her heart pounding like a drum as ripples stirred across a once-still lake, never to settle again.

Even if Ling Tiancheng had to warm a cold, hard stone, she would keep at it until Lan stayed by her side forever, so that neither of them would regret this life.

So in the hot spring, she pulled Lan into the water, her gaze inadvertently falling on Lan's still-straight back.

The soaked, delicate fabric could not conceal the terrible scars.

The next moment, a hand paler than Lan's back, which had long been hidden from the sun, gently stroked those hideous scars.

"Does it hurt?"

The princess stood in the water, her figure indistinct and unclothed. Fortunately, steam and mist filled the place, offering a little cover...

The young woman's ears flushed pink. She had the strength to snap a neck with her bare hands, yet she did not dare push the princess away. Her hands hung stiffly at her sides, and even her voice was taut.

"I... I don't know, Your Highness."
