The Great Womb Treasury

(Sorry, whenever the pressure gets to me, I want to write something weird.)

[Midwife who loves delivering babies x woman who loves giving birth]

Naiwei, a woman cursed by ancient sorcery.

She was stripped of her ability to bear children. In exchange, when she nears menopause, her womb will consume her body from the inside out, hardening into a jade egg.

Seven days later, a version of her with the same recombined genes will break out of its shell and mature at an astonishing speed. The cycle then begins again, granting her eternal life.

Throughout her long life, she has been obsessed with delivering and raising infants. She pours this compassionate love into every young life she encounters.

In one lifetime, she works as a midwife in a noble household.

The lord of the house, whom she raised with her own hands, develops a line of stitches across his forehead and orders her to deliver a cursed child.

The poor pregnant woman begs her for help. Naiwei agrees.

Several reincarnations later, she works as a postpartum nanny in a seemingly loving family.

But the lady of the house, who also has a line of stitches across her forehead, always behaves strangely, her gaze deep and inscrutable.

The lady is forever drawing close, stroking Naiwei's skin with her fingers, her eyes filled with an unfathomable mixture of amusement and seduction.

Once the baby has grown up safely, Naiwei immediately quits, trying to sever this ill-fated bond.

But she can't break free.

Before long, a man dressed in Buddhist robes, elegant and chilling, with the same line of stitches on his head, comes looking for her.

"Don't run, Naiwei."

"Don't you want a child of your own? I can give birth to one for you."
