A story of the busy autumn harvest in the lives of rural children left behind by their migrant-worker parents.
Yang Xiaoyong is one such child. His mother died young, and his father works far from home all year round. With his own hands, his grandfather gathered the autumn rice harvest and kept the family going for him and his younger siblings.
Every year, what he looked forward to most was his father's return. But before autumn ended, his grandfather fell ill, and the burden of the household fell on his shoulders. He wanted to grow up quickly.
This winter, his father came home, weathered by wind and frost, and took them to an amusement park. Yang Xiaoyong decided he would study even harder next year and help his grandfather shoulder more of the burden.
