Great Yan's First Theater

After accidentally transmigrating, Wen Ying gets a theater of her own.

She takes on her uncle, wins over the county magistrate, nurtures famous performers, and opens a theater, bringing the Southern opera back before the world.

One day, after Wen Ying finishes renovating the guild hall and a new play ends to thunderous applause, the audience's clapping nearly brings down the roof.

Wen Ying retreats backstage, intending to take everyone to a restaurant to celebrate.

But as soon as she enters, she sees a young man in black leaning against the daybed where she had been sitting. Perhaps from working several days straight, he looks worn out, his handsome brows knitted tight.

Wen Ying steps forward to smooth his brow. Her touch wakes him, and an intoxicating fragrance fills the air. The young man gazes at her with phoenix-shaped eyes.

"Congratulations, Boss Wen."

The first time Xie Chaozhi sees Wen Ying is in a cramped trap.

The woman's back overlaps with the figure that has haunted his dreams, and he is almost certain at first glance that Wen Ying is her.

But Wen Ying refuses to admit it. He tries every way he can to stay by her side, following her wherever she goes.

Xie Chaozhi discovers that Wen Ying likes his face. Especially when he has been wronged and looks at her with red-rimmed eyes, she has no way to resist him. No matter what he says, she believes him.

In secret, he writes in a notebook:

"I want to stay by her side forever."

"On my birthday, she had someone wish me a happy birthday onstage. She's the first person to remember. I really like her so much."

"..."

When Wen Ying finds the notebook, Xie Chaozhi is watching her from behind, studying her reaction. As she turns around, he corners her beside the table, brushes the loose hair from her forehead with his fingers, and rubs the tip of his nose against hers.

His eyes are no longer pitiful. They brim with an intense, possessive hunger.

"You've found out, Miss."
