In the early 1970s, Wen Dongyang, a college student at the Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, was transferred to Changzhou Lanling Semiconductor Factory and met Ms. Wang, a colleague who had worked in the Tianjin Communications Office. The two had common interests and got along well. Ms. Wang wanted to introduce Danyang's younger sister who jumped in the queue to Wen Dongyang as his girlfriend. Through Ma Baoshui, who was also a colleague, she took Wen Dongyang, who loved music, to Ms. Wang's house to listen to records. She secretly asked Ms. Wang's mother and sister to examine Wen Dongyang's situation, making Wen Dongyang the target of a "blind date." The interesting stories elicited from this reflect the style of that era, as well as the lives, marriage and love situations of young people.
Intention: Through Wen Dongyang being taken to listen to records by his colleagues, it is essentially a story of being "on a blind date" under the scrutiny of the other party, reflecting the social landscape of the 1970s and the views on marriage and love of young men and women.
