From the moment he was born, Xiao Yuzhang was branded a "bringer of bad luck." His mother died in childbirth, and his superstitious father, Xiao Yan, blamed everything on him. Whenever Xiao Yan lost money gambling or got drunk, he took out his anger by beating the boy. Carrying old scars on his palm and fresh humiliation, Xiao Yuzhang slapped Xiao Huaixu aside and escaped.
