I finally had some free time recently. I’d meant to write a proper synopsis, but after fiddling with it for ages, it still wasn’t as good as the one I came up with off the cuff back then. It’s pretty frustrating.

At first, after thinking it over for a long time, I classified this as a Journey to the West fanfic, since the overall framework follows the story of Journey to the West. But I was writing it just after watching the first season of the Saiyuki TV series, so its influence on the backstories of Wukong and Jincang, as well as the four characters’ appearances, was considerable.

It’s been a long time since that whim first struck me, and the later plot points have grown hazy in my memory. I don’t know how long I’ll keep writing. Fortunately, I still have some drafts, and can just make out the general thread of the story. So I’ve kept going on and off until now, and probably will continue to do so until certain things and certain people wear away my love and passion, just as despair once did.

I wrote this by hand in class when I was in college = =. At least for now, I don’t think I’ll continue it. Stares at the sky…
