My Luck Was Terrible, but Hard Work Made Me a Top-Tier Star

Lin Zhimu: an idol who fights to survive against the odds. Her family is poor, and no one supports her dream of making music? She dropped out of school and worked to save up for a ticket to Seoul. With one astonishing original song, she became YG's first Chinese trainee. The girl group project was delayed, so she couldn't debut? With her distinctive singing, perfect voice, angelic face, and five years of straight A's, she became one of the top trainees. Sadly, on her twenty-second birthday, she received not a contract, but a notice of dismissal. Despair filled Lin Zhimu's life, but she refused to give up. She signed with P Company instead. The company had nothing but debt, so she worked herself to the bone to make it money: writing songs, performing at events, appearing on variety shows, doing radio... She slept an average of four hours a night for six months and collapsed twenty-seven times. Her debut album, I Never Give Up, became an instant hit. Within five years, she reached the top of the Korean entertainment industry and became a top-tier star of her generation. When a fan asked about her past during a livestream, she summed it up in one sentence: "The boat has already passed through ten thousand mountains." Those close-up performance videos earned through sweat, those dazzling performances won through pain, and that eight-minute-twenty-six-second medley at the MAMA Awards: none of them were accidental. They were the way a hardworking, creative idol expressed her love for the stage. Only time knows that she deserves every honor. * Reader's guide: 1. There is a romance.
