After Losing My Memory, I Solved Cases and Became a Trusted Official

No one at the academy knows that its best student in mathematics, who has no sense of humility, is a girl.

The other students only know that, aside from being good-looking, she is unbearable in every way.

She dominates the rankings year after year, earning the hatred of the aristocrats.

She takes all the scholarships, earning the hatred of the poor students.

If this keeps up, how will any of them get recommended by the academy for official posts?

The students join forces, all determined to drive her out.

Mu Wei doesn't care what anyone thinks. She has to win the scholarship, and she can't give up a single point.

Because she has amnesia. She can't remember anything, neither from before she came here nor after.

If she doesn't study hard and compete for the scholarship,

she won't survive another day.

But today...

The classmate who led the campaign to drive her out is dead.

The worst part is that the whole academy knows they had just become enemies.

Worse still, she was the only one at the crime scene, and it was a locked room!

She's practically the perfect murderer!

Mu Wei sighs, resigns herself to the situation, and carefully examines the body.

Though she has no memories, at least her head is full of scientific principles.

If she doesn't want to be thrown in prison and beheaded,

she'd better get down to solving the case honestly.

Yes, a scientific investigation can always explain things.

Then one case, then another, then another.

With science at her side, she charges forward without fear.

Before logic, nothing can stand in her way.

Let the light of criminal investigation shine into the dynasty.

From an ordinary student to an officially appointed ninth-rank official.

Then sixth rank, fifth rank, fourth rank, third rank, second rank...

The Ministry of Works, Shuntian Prefecture, and the Court of Judicial Review fight tooth and nail to recruit her.

Generals at the frontier and enemy commanders alike court her favor.

The Fourth Prince, Sixth Prince, and Crown Prince all want her under their command.

Until, on his deathbed, the emperor summons her.

"My dear Mu, which of my sons do you think I should choose?"

The first time Zhao Yu saw Mu Wei, she was being ganged up on in class.

The second time, she was being ganged up on beside a corpse.

Before he could see her a third time, he heard she'd been ganged up on and died.

He didn't know why he cared so much about her.

He was only curious about her bizarre knack for solving cases.

But the moment he heard the word "dead," the cup in his hand shattered.

He refused to believe she was dead.

He brought out all the forces he'd kept hidden for years to search for her.

He didn't care if he was exposed.

He only cared about one person.

Someone he'd never even touched, yet could no longer let go.

He knew he shouldn't, but he couldn't help himself.

When she was there, he couldn't stop looking at her.

When she wasn't, he couldn't stop thinking about her.

When she came back,

he said nothing and did nothing,

only protecting her more closely.

But his sworn enemy had set his sights on her too.

Then one day, the Fourth Prince said to him in front of everyone:

"Give Mu Wei to me. Name your price."

Zhao Yu smiled.

He'd never begged for anything in his life.

He'd never fought anyone for anything, either.

But this...

No.

But Zhao Yu also knew that with her abilities, she would soon outshine the entire court.

She might not stay under his command for long.

There was only one way: strive for the highest throne.

Only then could he stand beside her as her equal and stay by her side forever.

So many nights, Zhao Yu would dream of that familiar face, dressed as a woman and walking gracefully toward him, but he could never reach her. Years later, Zhao Yu looked at Mu Wei in women's clothes and raised an eyebrow with a smile.

"This time, you can't run away!"

After losing my memories, I disguised myself as a man and solved cases by instinct, but the prince kept asking who my master was. One day he cornered me against a wall. "Your eyes glow blue when you're solving cases. Care to explain that?"
