Collecting SSRs in the Three Kingdoms

Yuan Heng, a Three Kingdoms fan, was playing a Three Kingdoms game while reading a Three Kingdoms novel when one big move got him electrocuted to death.

He woke up in a Three Kingdoms world where the game and novel had been mixed together.

He was a member of a minor branch of the Runan Yuan clan, a man who had never existed in history,

and came with a game cheat that worked only sometimes (or an artificially stupid AI).

Thinking of Guo Jia, who died young, and Xun Yu’s pair of melancholy eyes...

Yuan Heng’s eyes lit up: How was this a troubled age? It was clearly a limited-time SSR character banner!

While his unlucky cousin was still frantically competing for the Imperial Seal,

Yuan Heng had already quietly completed his “full collection” with a “bug-level strategy guide.”

Many years later, facing the vast realm he had snagged and a hall full of his idols,

Yuan Heng spread his hands helplessly. “At first, I really only wanted to quietly be a collector.”

[Plenty of original settings, an alternate Three Kingdoms]

The neighboring novel, Tamed by My Captor in Reverse, is complete.

Yuan Heng (public persona): An elegant young nobleman, peerless in refinement, and a wise lord who leaves nothing to chance. Every gesture could be captured in a painting, and his manner is as refreshing as a spring breeze.

Yuan Heng (inner self): A “system programmer” forced to keep up appearances, locked in fierce mental battles every day beneath his poised and graceful exterior.

A short scene: First meeting with Guo Jia

Yuan Heng (inner thoughts): [System! Scan him! I want all his data!]

System: [(￣▽￣)~* Starting an in-depth scan for you... Ding! Extremely rare unit detected! Name: Guo Jia. Aptitude: SSR.]

Yuan Heng (inner thoughts): Obviously! Tell me something I don’t know!

System: [Health: Critical. Estimated lifespan: Less than ten years. Recommended solution: Use the item “Hua Tuo’s Secret Medicine.”]

Yuan Heng (delighted inside): Great, redeem it!

System: [Sorry, dear~ The redemption feature is unavailable in the current version. Please look forward to a future update~]

Yuan Heng (smiling warmly at Guo Jia while screaming inside): What good are you to me?!

System: [You can choose to complete the hidden quest “A Morning in Yingchuan” for a chance to obtain that item~ Quest hint: Stand around outside the Yingchuan Academy entrance for fifteen minutes.]

Yuan Heng (maintaining his elegant seated posture, despairing inside): ...Do I not look like an idiot right now?
