Twelve Love Letters

A concise blurb: At 39, she attends a classmate's wedding and learns from them that someone once loved her for twelve years, and died in the twelfth year.

They all think she is still single at 39 because she is commemorating her dead lover. Her friends sing of the greatness of their love with heartfelt emotion.

The truth is, she did love that dead man for many years. But for one reason or another, she never dared to reveal her feelings. Then he died, and she saw him for the last time in his hospital room. He gave her a box to keep for him, asking her to pass it on if his beloved ever came.

After hearing confirmation from several friends, she opens the box. Inside are twelve letters, written from the year he turned 17 to the year he turned 29.

One letter for each year, and every one is a love letter to her.

When she opens her eyes, she is back at 17, on the day he writes his first love letter.

A plot idea saved for later.
