The Heir's War

Years ago, Yu Sheng's words, "Let's break up," crushed every bit of Chu Tongyu's pride and sincere affection.

Years later, they crossed paths at a public merger and acquisition bidding meeting, representing rival companies.

When Chu Tongyu saw Yu Sheng again, she was the heiress of a powerful conglomerate, known to the public as calm and meticulous.

Chu Tongyu, meanwhile, had only recently taken on the challenge of proving herself worthy to inherit her father's company.

In public, they were bitter rivals, heirs to companies with everyone's hopes resting on them.

In private

In a shadowy corner of a bar, Yu Sheng pushed a glass toward her.

Chu Tongyu lowered her eyes. "Ms. Yu, we're competitors."

Yu Sheng leaned close, her breath brushing Chu Tongyu's ear as she smiled. "But that doesn't stop us from kissing."

They kissed in the shadows and clashed in meetings.

Amid lies and tests, they fell for each other all over again.

Everyone thought it was a game of corporate espionage, and Chu Tongyu warned herself of the same.

Until the core proposal was leaked, and the trust they'd rebuilt collapsed in an instant.

"Do you want to beat me that badly?" Chu Tongyu stopped her in the parking lot, her voice trembling.

Yu Sheng wiped away the tear at the corner of her eye. Her gaze was as tender as it had been all those years ago. "The only person I've ever wanted to beat is you."

When everything was settled, beneath the spotlights that would decide their future,

Chu Tongyu looked toward the person in the crowd who had once made her feel both love and hate.

And declared to the whole world:

"We are rivals."

"But that doesn't stop us from building the future together."
