I Ran Away with the Baby, but the Baby's a Cat

Que Xinyan and Bu Kaixin had a fight.

They gave each other the silent treatment for three days. Just before Bu Kaixin was about to board a twelve-hour international flight, a text arrived from Que Xinyan.

Que Xinyan sent him a photo of a slightly rounded belly.

Que Xinyan: I'm pregnant.

Que Xinyan: With your baby.

Que Xinyan: If you dare leave, I'll run away with the baby!

At the flight attendant's reminder, Bu Kaixin promptly switched his phone to airplane mode and turned it off.

What a lunatic! He's a man! How the hell could he get pregnant?

And even if someone were going to get pregnant... wouldn't it be the bottom?

How the hell could Que Xinyan, the top, get pregnant?

Que Xinyan wanted to win back his boyfriend. His boyfriend was going abroad to study and wasn't taking him along, and he was devastated.

Then he heard the girls at the next table talking: "A man has to have a baby to keep his partner!" "What's the point of a rooster that doesn't lay eggs?" And so on.

He got it! He would have a child with Bu Kaixin!

Human babies were too much trouble, so after a whirlwind of brainstorming, he settled on a long-haired kitten Bu Kaixin adored but had never been able to keep because of work.

Que Xinyan solemnly promised the mama cat, "Let me adopt your baby! I'll take good care of her. She'll be the firstborn daughter of Kaixin and me, and she'll become the sole heir to the Que family!"

Mama cat: Meow?

After completing a three-month academic exchange program overseas, Bu Kaixin returned to the apartment he shared with Que Xinyan.

The apartment was empty.

A fresh sheet of paper was tucked under something in the entryway. It looked like it had been put there just before he got off the plane that morning.

Dear Kaixin: By the time you read this, I'll be gone. I'll raise our child on my own. You cruelly abandoned me and our daughter, and I will never forgive you. Don't even think about finding me and the baby!

Bu Kaixin: ?

And so Bu Kaixin began the long, arduous journey of "winning his husband back."

After an incredible amount of effort, he finally brought his eloping "sweet little husband," Que Xinyan, and the "baby," the kitten Maomao, home.

Exhausted, he felt completely drained and decided to get a checkup at the hospital.

"Congratulations, you're pregnant."

Bu Kaixin: ???

For the past month, Que Xinyan had been enjoying the perks of carrying a kitten, basking in the glory of being a father to a precious daughter and getting to boss his sister-in-law around. What fun!

Then he turned around and realized something was wrong!

Bu Kaixin had really run away with a baby?! This time it was a real baby, not a cat?!
