Saionji Saku figured he must have done too many good deeds in his previous life, because he woke up to find he had gone from being an adult to a newborn baby.

Well, being a baby was fine. He might as well listen and find out what this family was called.

The Karasuma family had gained its most promising heir in decades. Whether in martial arts, marksmanship, or business, this outstanding heir showed extraordinary talent. Renya Karasuma, the hidden power behind the Karasuma family, took a particular interest in him and let him start working with his organization at an early age.

The heir in question had this to say: Moved? I wouldn't dare.

The organization had a high-ranking member named "Whiskey." Rumor had it he was the Boss's favorite, had a perfect mission success rate, and was also the teacher of Gin, the organization's top killer.

However, he had long since stepped back from the front lines, and few in the organization had ever seen his true face.

The top killer raised by Whiskey had this to say: Whiskey? He's just a guy who coasts on the Boss's favoritism, wasting a wealth of talent while doing nothing with his life.

Perhaps the Boss couldn't stand watching his heir keep living it up on the organization's tab. One text message was enough to send Saionji Saku, under the assumed name Watanabe Sakura, to the police academy, planning to have him go undercover at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department in the future.

Standing outside the police academy, Saionji Saku, who had hated cops in both his previous and current lives, felt like he had probably been dead for a while already.

To avoid going undercover at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, he came last in everything, determined to get the academy instructors to tell him he wasn't suited to be a police officer before graduation.

His five close friends from the police academy said: Watanabe Sakura may have a lot of secrets, but he'll definitely become a good police officer!

Saionji Saku ended up joining the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department after all, but after just three years there, he was sent undercover into a mysterious organization to gather information about one of its members.

After spending several months, he finally became an outside member of the organization. But when he met the person his superior had asked him to find, Saionji Saku fell silent.

"A new member of the organization, a technician who's terrible in a fight but has a decent head on his shoulders?" The silver-haired killer sneered around his cigarette.

"...Show me some respect, Gin. I'm your teacher, after all!" Saionji Saku replied, feeling guilty.

In exchange for agreeing to one of Gin's conditions, Saionji Saku asked him to keep his identity secret. After all, going undercover in his own organization and failing to realize it would make him the organization's laughingstock.

And so the organization lost a high-ranking executive, Whiskey, and gained a new member: Macallan Whiskey.

I wanted to write something old-fashioned: a sixth member of the police academy group, an organization member going undercover at the academy, saving the academy group, a protagonist with lots of secret identities, and a little mutual misunderstanding. No forums, no on-screen comments. The protagonist's golden finger is an innate ability to rewind after death, and he has read Detective Conan in his previous life.
