My completed novel, Consort Xuan's Daily Life Raising Children, is up for adoption! My new novel, Chronicles of the Huai'an Marquis's Estate, is updating now. It's a marriage-first, love-later story with plenty of child-rearing sweetness. If you're interested, please add it to your favorites. The blurb is at the very bottom!
New chapters go up daily at 10 a.m. They'll only ever be early, never late! I'll take a leave if anything comes up. Thank you for your support!

Yun Xiu had made a wish at Yonghe Temple: in her next life, she wanted to be born rich. When she woke up, she learned some good news and some bad news.
The good news: her wish had come true. She was now an elite rich kid and the daughter of a high-ranking official, with connections even in the capital's central government.
The bad news: her wish had been adjusted just a tiny bit. She wasn't in the twenty-first century, but in the Kangxi reign of the Qing dynasty.
Kangxi's Consort Hui, of the Mongolian Borjigit clan, was his earliest match in a Manchu-Mongolian political marriage, the Empress Dowager's niece, and the great-grandniece of Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang.
She came from the highest ranks and had powerful backing. The only problem was that, historically, Consort Hui entered the palace and died less than a year later.
Faced with this script, Yun Xiu fell silent.
First, she would set a modest goal: survive one year.
By the nineteenth year of Kangxi's reign, Yun Xiu had managed to make a very comfortable life for herself. She spent her days eating and drinking, strolling through the gardens, playing cards and chatting with the two old matriarchs, listening to palace gossip, and teasing the little Fifth Prince, Yin Qi, who was being raised in the Palace of Benevolent Tranquility.
Then one day, the imperial physician diagnosed her as pregnant.
The Empress Dowager and the Grand Empress Dowager were overjoyed. Ten months later, Yun Xiu gave birth to a chubby, fair-skinned boy.
Yun Xiu counted on her fingers. There were already seven princes in the palace, so her precious son had to be...
The eighth prince of the Kangxi era, the famously titled Prince Lian, A Qina Yin Si.
Yun Xiu's vision went black. Looking at her precious son, she felt that her retirement plans were in grave danger.
Looking at her newborn son Yin Si, Yun Xiu sighed and began figuring out how to save the two of them from being rounded up and punished when the time came.
After racking her brains, Yun Xiu decided to do something big.
She would make the Eighth Prince and Yongzheng grow up as close as brothers, so that even if they ended up on opposing sides as adults, they might still leave each other a way out.
But after a few years of putting her plan into action, Yun Xiu fell silent when Yin Zhen was moved to Changchun Palace and raised alongside Yin Si. She hadn't actually planned to raise Yin Zhen herself.
But one sheep was as easy to herd as two, so Yun Xiu rolled up her sleeves and got to work raising children.
In the end, however, the bond between Yin Zhen and Yin Si far exceeded her expectations.
Watching Yin Si go around calling him “Fourth Brother” all day, while Yin Zhen became an incurable doting older brother, Yun Xiu stroked her chin and decided her retirement was probably secure again, and might even get an upgrade.

Coming soon: Chronicles of the Huai'an Marquis's Estate
Blurb
When Pei Jun first transmigrated to the Great Yan dynasty, she thought she'd landed in a story where she could win without lifting a finger. After all, her father was the Crown Prince, and she was his legitimate eldest daughter by the Crown Princess.
It looked like a life of privilege and ease, with all the food, drink, and fun she could want.
Then, when she was three, her Crown Prince father was suddenly deposed.
Pei Jun: Wait, that's not right!
After just three happy years of eating well and living in luxury, Pei Jun had to move with her deposed Crown Prince father and their whole family into the place designated by the emperor for their confinement: Qiulan Palace, in the most remote corner of the imperial palace.
When Pei Jun was sixteen, her imperial grandfather died suddenly of an acute illness. Her fifth uncle, also a son of the empress, ascended the throne.
Her uncle proved quite loyal. Not long after taking the throne, he released the family and granted her father the title of prince. He even bestowed on Pei Jun the title of Commandery Princess Zhaoyang.
Then he promptly arranged her marriage to Qin Chu, who had just been made Marquis of Huai'an for helping him ascend the throne.
*
Qin Chu had passed the imperial examinations as a young man and was both a brilliant scholar and a capable warrior. He was also famous throughout the capital for his handsome looks, with a noble bearing and striking appearance. He came from the century-old Qin family, which held the hereditary title of Duke Su in addition to the Marquis of Huai'an title he'd received for his role in the new emperor's rise. His family background and personal qualities were perfect in every way.
The one catch was that, although Qin Chu had never married, he had adopted the children of his late elder brother and sister-in-law. He made it clear that once Pei Jun married him, the two children would be registered under her name as legitimate heirs. That meant Pei Jun would be their stepmother, even though she was his first wife.
The children would also take the titles of eldest legitimate son and eldest legitimate daughter, titles that would otherwise belong to any children she had.
Her mother, the former Crown Princess, wept and protested, utterly opposed to the match, as though Pei Jun were being sent into a pit of fire. But Pei Jun thought it sounded like a dream come true!
She wasn't planning to have children anyway. Since Qin Chu already had a son and daughter, that saved her the trouble. All she had to do was trade Qiulan Palace for the Huai'an Marquis's Estate and keep eating, idling, and lying flat. It was all the same to her.
The main reason, of course, was that her imperial uncle had already issued the decree. She had no choice but to marry.
*
The day before her wedding, Pei Jun suddenly dreamed that her world was actually a novel, and its protagonist was Qin Chu's adopted son, Qin Yu, who was about to become her precious stepson.
When Qin Yu grew up, he would rise to the highest ranks of government and wield immense power. The first people he'd deal with after taking power would be her and her deposed Crown Prince father.
He'd come after her because, after marrying into the family, she'd flaunted the influence of her grandmother the Empress Dowager and her uncle the emperor, bullying him and his sister at every turn. She'd be a truly wicked stepmother. He'd go after her father because Qin Yu's mother's family had once been framed, had their property confiscated, and were sent into exile. His mother had become the daughter of a convicted criminal, lived in misery, and eventually died with grievances unavenged. The case had been unjustly decided by Pei Jun's father when he was still Crown Prince.
And because she, the wicked stepmother, had added fuel to the fire, both she and her father would be made to pay for it, and die horribly.
Pei Jun woke in a cold sweat.
Pei Jun: Ha, I'm out of options. When can I escape the suffering caused by my family of origin?
Oh, right. There's also the family you create yourself.
So Pei Jun, who had been planning to lie flat, could only spring into action and start carefully looking after the two children who'd come free with the marriage. She hoped they'd remember her kindness when they grew up and spare her useless father and her mother.
In the end, when Pei Jun saw Qin Chu, who had once looked down on her, circling around her every day with the two children, she fell into deep thought. Perhaps she'd been a little too successful.
Content notes: 1. The heroine's father was also manipulated in the unjust case. The real culprit was someone else.
2. This should be a marriage-first, love-later story with some domestic intrigue and child-rearing. The tone won't be too heavy. I hope you enjoy it!
Theme: Tomorrow will be better.
I thought there would be a side story about traveling to modern times, but I feel like the ending is a bit too fast...
