A money-loving junior sister who refuses to give up or accept her fate x a senior brother who speaks tougher than he feels and cultivates the Heartless Dao

On her first day after transmigrating into a book, Xue Chiyu faced two problems.
The first was that she'd become a cannon-fodder pawn on the male and female leads' cultivation journey.
The second was that the male lead had just chosen someone else over her. Luckily, she still had a way out. It was just a dead end.
She was used as a shield for the male and female leads, then thrown from a bottomless cliff to fend for herself.
The good news: she didn't die.
The bad news: she landed on someone.
The even worse news: it was that sword cultivator of the Heartless Dao whom she absolutely mustn't offend.
To save the life she'd barely managed to hold on to, Xue Chiyu ran.
She thought someone as different from her as heaven was from earth would never cross paths with her again. But just after she joined the sect as her master's disciple, she learned from him that she had a senior brother, an outstanding sword cultivator of the Heartless Dao.
The more Xue Chiyu heard, the more familiar it sounded. When she asked his name, she was left speechless.
Wasn't he the Heartless Dao cultivator she'd accidentally offended?
Well, what kind of cursed fate was this?

Yin Yansui was the most talented prodigy of his generation.
He was also a candidate for the Heartless Dao whom countless elders had their eye on. They all hoped he'd successfully cultivate it, and he believed he would, too.
To him, all people and demons in the world were the same.
But after he met Xue Chiyu, everything changed.
He first noticed her when she fell from the sky as he was cultivating alone and he caught her. Before he could even get a good look at her, he heard a hurried apology, and she vanished from before his eyes.
The second time they met, he learned that his master had taken on a disciple named Xue Chiyu.
Yin Yansui recognized her at once as the girl who had interrupted his cultivation.
She seemed to recognize him, too. They tacitly agreed not to mention that day, acting as if it had never happened.
But during the cultivation that followed, he could feel himself dreaming again and again of the day they first met. His junior sister's radiant smile lingered in his mind.
At first, he thought a heart demon was interfering with his cultivation.
He decided to cut things off cleanly, avoid seeing his junior sister, and sever all ties with her.
But whenever he calmed his mind to cultivate, his beating heart couldn't help but stir for one person.
That was when he realized he might have fallen for his junior sister.

The Heartless Dao shattered, and his sword heart broke.
He was no longer the sword cultivator everyone believed him to be, one who loved all without distinction and treated all living beings equally. He was only his junior sister's senior brother.
Reading Guide:
1. My own take on cultivation, with mountains of original worldbuilding. I make the rules.
2. Not a female-lead-power-fantasy story! Monsters, leveling up, and romance, with a slow burn.
3. The prose is colloquial. If that's not for you, please don't read.
