Synopsis
He Ran always thought Chen Sihuan disliked her and was always going out of his way to oppose her. Whether it was exam scores, sports, or even gaming, he had to compete with her in everything. Every time he saw her, Chen Sihuan's mouth was as poisonous as arsenic. He was always looking for a chance to mock her, childish as an elementary school student.
He was always saying sarcastically that the world would be so much better without her, and then he would not have to spend every day competing with someone.
He Ran could not understand it. She had never picked a fight with her nemesis, so why was Chen Sihuan always picking on her? It was not as if she had forced him to compete with her.
To put an end to their pointless feud, He Ran posted online asking for help: [How do I get my nemesis to stop picking on me?]
The top-voted comment read: [Confess to him. It'll gross him out so much he'll avoid you for the rest of his life.]
He Ran thought the idea sounded ridiculous, but when she considered it, it did make a certain amount of sense.
So she decided to confess to Chen Sihuan. To make sure he did not think she was joking, He Ran wrote him a very formal love letter.
But on the day she was about to hand it to him, a runaway truck came barreling toward the sidewalk. She could not dodge in time and was knocked to the ground.
Just as she thought she was about to die, someone scooped her up in his arms as her consciousness began to fade.
He Ran looked up. The moment she saw Chen Sihuan's face, she froze.
"What are you doing here?"
He did not answer. He just kept calling her name, trying to keep her conscious.
It was the first time he had not said something cruel to her. Instead, he held her tightly. Pressed against his chest, He Ran could not tell if she was imagining it, but Chen Sihuan seemed to be trembling.
What are you afraid of? Wouldn't it be just what you wanted if I died?
He Ran closed her eyes and fell asleep in Chen Sihuan's arms.
When He Ran woke, she found herself in a sealed room. A huge screen stood before her, showing a girl who looked exactly like her waking up in a hospital room.
He Ran: "Am I in heaven?"
System: "No. Someone transmigrated into your body."
Only then did He Ran learn that she was living in a sweet campus romance novel. Her role was the story's first sacrificial villainess, a vicious supporting character who liked the male lead, Zhou Yuhan, her childhood friend. She bullied the heroine, Yi Wen, again and again, and in the end, got what she deserved and met a tragic fate.
"Hold on," He Ran interrupted the System. "But I don't like Zhou Yuhan."
System: "That's why we sent someone to transmigrate into a book and take over your life. How can you be a vicious supporting female character and fail to do your job, choosing instead to confess to some random extra?"
He Ran: "A random extra? Who? Chen Sihuan?"
Later, He Ran reclaimed her life. After she transmigrated back, she discovered that Chen Sihuan really had started avoiding her. When he saw her, he no longer insulted her, but he did not want to talk to her at all.
But she had not even given him the love letter yet.
After Chen Sihuan repeatedly pretended not to see her, He Ran cornered him against a wall and asked why he was avoiding her.
Under her gaze, Chen Sihuan's ears burned. With her pressing him at every turn, he finally said, "I think... I've fallen for you."
[Brilliant, pampered genius girl x possessive, restrained, sharp-tongued boy]
[Vicious woman x devoted dog]
Reading Guide:
1. Both leads have only ever been with each other, one-on-one romance, equally matched leads, tragic ending in the main story
2. The male lead seems sunny on the surface but is actually a gloomy, obsessive ghost. Warning: the ghostly side gets intense later
3. The leads have clear strengths and flaws. Not recommended for readers with excessively high moral standards for the main couple
Theme: Against achievement worship
