An old-school romance with a wild premise, a groveling chase, and tales of immortals, demons, and the supernatural, drawing on elements from ancient legends.
A love story spanning more than three thousand years, though they were actually together for only a little over one year. They both chose each other, even if the journey there was a little rocky.
I wrote this a long time ago, getting up every morning to write without an outline and letting the stream of consciousness take me wherever it went. When I finished, I set it aside, thinking I would revise it. But before I knew it, years had passed, and I still felt the first draft was best. It's imperfect, and its values are old-fashioned too. There are even choices the protagonists make that I absolutely wouldn't write now. But nothing comes from nowhere, and I can't deny who I used to be just because I've grown since then. I'm especially grateful to my past self, who kept the characters in my head alive while working on a thesis! This is in their memory.
Theme: We have mouths so we can communicate.
