*The boundless sea of sand, its stars as mysterious as a riddle. Carrying a lamp, he enters the desert's reflection and glimpses what lies between illusion and reality.
Xiao Wujie has one goal in life: go to Chang'an and sell roujiamo. Reality, however, hands him a soul lamp and two lunatics who treat him like a human GPS.
He crosses the desert's reflection and enters the perilous Dragon Gate. The remnants of players from the past slaughter one another in a frenzy, while the Inn Between Worlds reappears amid the ruins.
Jia Fei: "Light it, or I'll send you to the respawn point right now."
Xie Yi: "Young hero, do me a favor. I'll help you beat him up later."
Xiao Wujie: "...Can I eat a roujiamo first?"
Serious version:
The stars of the desert guide the way, and a lamp amid the ruins lights the path. Xiao Wujie, an outcast of Yantian, carries a simple dream of selling roujiamo in Chang'an, yet finds himself trapped in the perilous desert.
A soul lamp with a white-bone violet flame reveals an ancient city reflected beneath the sea of sand, along with rifts in space and time. A former creditor returns, and the mysterious assassin Jia Fei and mild-mannered swordsman Xie Yi drag him into a quest that crosses the boundary between reality and illusion.
Beneath the starlight, the ancient city reappears; among the ruins, shadows of the past loom everywhere.
With his faint light, he illuminates the dust of the desert, and finds the way home within himself.
*A dual-timeline narrative with dense details. The story shifts between past and present early on ("-" marks a shift in time and space). Enjoy!
