Both Lan and Sun Ce liked Sun Quan.
Lan was the abandoned son of the Cao family who was picked up by Sun Ce, and later became Sun Quan's shadow. Sun Ce was the eldest brother who watched Sun Quan grow up.
When seeing Sun Ce and Sun Quan holding hands, Lan would think: Zhongmou, do you know? In fact, I envy Sun Ce for being able to stand side by side with you openly. (Unlike myself, I need to keep my distance.)
And when Sun Ce saw Lan secretly expressing his feelings to Sun Quan (similar to a veiled confession, but Sun Quan didn't take it seriously), Sun Ce would think: Zhongmou, do you know? In fact, I envy Lan for being able to like you openly.
