A Guide to Surviving on the Baseball Field

A pure white bird settled on a branch at Seido High. Its feathers were damp, and it looked utterly weary from a long journey.

On that diamond-shaped baseball field, countless people struggled through the dirt for their dreams. Sweat, tears, and blood blended into a dark mess, while cicadas echoed in their chests with every breath.

Under the blazing sun, youthful dreams can only evaporate or be tempered into brilliant diamonds. But there is only one crown, and the only way is forward, ever forward.

Shiratori insists he learned to play baseball because of two friends in his dreams, one a pitcher and the other a catcher. They were what first sparked his interest in the game.

"What about me?" Miyuki points to himself, sounding rather indignant. What does some catcher in a dream have on him? He's the one catching for Shiratori now!

The pitcher only smiles without answering.

They were the ones who set me on this path, a warm and safe nest. And you are the wind that lifts me up so I can spread my wings.

If flying for the rest of my life means staying by your side for the rest of my life, then even if this road has no end, I am willing.
