Gu Yu is mild-tempered and soft-hearted. Because the birthmark between his brows is so faint, he is especially embarrassed to be seen by others.

Gu Yu's father sat smoking his pipe without a word. Gu Yu's other father urged him, "Son, just marry him!"

Gu Yu lowered his head and said, "All right."

The good-for-nothing never showed up on the wedding day, and Gu Yu became the laughingstock of every village for miles around. At home, his father berated him; after he married, his mother-in-law tormented him. Gu Yu thought that when he couldn't bear it anymore, he could just bash his head against a wall and die.

"You're my husband?"

Gu Yu, drenched in sweat from washing clothes, looked up and saw the good-for-nothing standing backlit.

Gu Yu hurried to his feet, unable to say a word.

What happened next made Gu Yu tremble with fear. The good-for-nothing kicked over his washbasin, then went into the main room and flipped the dining table. Amid the wails and screams filling the courtyard, he looked like a demon.

"You make my husband work while you sit around eating? Wash your own clothes. Do that again, and I'll tear your house down."

Looking at the good-for-nothing, whose body was as broad as a mountain, Gu Yu trembled. For a moment, he couldn't tell who was scarier, him or his mother-in-law.

Qiu Chi only had to feed himself, so he lived carefree. He hadn't been home in ages, and when he ran into someone from his village on the street, they asked why he never went home to see his husband.

The moment Qiu Chi stepped into the courtyard, he saw someone huffing and puffing as he worked, thin as a little chick.

When Qiu Chi approached and spoke to him, he didn't answer. Right then, Qiu Chi decided he wanted to send him home.

Besides, he had never planned on marrying a husband. And even if he did, he'd have to marry a tiger. Otherwise, his stepmother would eat him alive.
