Bai Mu had a secret he could barely bring himself to admit: he needed the pheromones of the aloof Alpha senior, famous throughout the school, in order to sleep.

As a beta, this was practically a sick joke. The worst part was that the senior was notorious for hating betas. Rumor had it he'd beaten a beta who pursued him so badly they ended up in the hospital.

To avoid getting himself killed by an S-rank alpha like that, Bai Mu repeatedly made it clear whenever he approached him: "Senior, I have a boyfriend. I just want to be friends with you."

But plans never keep up with change. When Qi Ren went into heat, the two of them crossed the line in all sorts of ways, and their newly warming relationship plunged into an ice age.

Bai Mu hadn't wanted to get tangled up with him again, but fate was late in handing them their ill-fated connection. They began running into each other even more often than before.

Qi Ren also wasn't as brutal as Bai Mu had imagined. He didn't hit him, and even treated his wounds. Sometimes he was unexpectedly adorable.

After his secret came out, Bai Mu pulled open his collar and asked Qi Ren for a temporary mark, but Qi Ren always cornered him against the wall with a wicked smile and asked, "Junior, does your boyfriend know you do this?"
