Changing the premise. I don't plan to write a switch pairing. I'll probably write this instead.
[GB, both virgins, no role reversal. Content warning: The heroine previously had a crush on the hero's nephew; male pregnancy; normal physiology.]
Age gap: eight years
Reunited after a separation.
Qin Li had loved Chen Youming, her uncle, since she was little. He was eight years older than her. He would play with her, take her to amusement parks, and buy her all sorts of delicious treats.
As an adult, she realized she had a crush on his nephew, and when she called him “Uncle,” she meant it more sincerely than ever.
After being drugged, she slept with Chen Youming, and they were forcibly tied together. She accidentally learned that the Qin family wanted to hand her over to Chen Youming.
She tried to escape, but the Qin family caught her and put her under house arrest.
Damn it!
The more she'd liked him before, the more she hated him now!
But everyone around her was pressuring her, and she was sick of it. In the end, she reluctantly went with him to register their marriage.
*
She hated this man to death. He was old, manipulative, and used his power to bully people. Everything about him made her uncomfortable.
But on their wedding night, Chen Youming opened the door and let her escape.
Plane ticket, passport, bank card, household registration booklet, ID card, an acceptance letter from an Ivy League school, everything was ready. There was even a spacious apartment in the city center worth twenty million dollars.
She boarded the plane, somewhat dazed, because the household registration booklet she'd seen listed only her name, and her marital status was unmarried...
Unmarried...
Could it be that their marriage registration was just for show?
What did he want, exactly?
Did he just want to transfer her household registration and send her abroad to study?
She settled in and thrived at university.
During a shooting on the street, a stray bullet hit her in the abdomen. Just before she lost consciousness, she seemed to see him rushing toward her, panic and confusion on his face...
When she woke up, she found that it really was him.
She didn't know how to thank him.
The past few years at school had made her so much more mature. She'd grown mature enough to think her younger self was ridiculously childish, and that even Chen Youming, who used to play “chase me” with her, had been childish.
She couldn't imagine how he'd managed to play the CEO romance game with a girl eight years younger than him.
Five years had passed. He had a daughter now, and they were strangers. To repay him for saving her life, she decided to join his company and work like a horse for him.
Well... It was one of the world's top 500 companies. She had nothing to lose by taking the job.
Until she accidentally discovered all the ways he'd secretly loved her.
And learned that he had given birth to their daughter.
Their daughter.
And he told their daughter, “Don't hate your mother. Dad was the one who did something wrong.”
If there was no love, eight years of unrequited longing, nine months of pregnancy, and five years of raising a daughter alone would be too hard to bear.
If there was love, what was he thinking as he watched her look at him with disgust, remembered the way she'd resolutely left on their wedding night, and saw their daughter grow more and more like her?
Content warnings: 1. Male pregnancy, GB with no role reversal, both virgins, normal physiology. The first time involves the old-fashioned drugging trope. As for how he gets pregnant, the author doesn't know. The two people involved do.
2. The daughter takes the surname Qin after they reunite, and the male lead does too in the bonus chapters. The bonus chapters will probably feature the male lead's perspective on his unrequited love, as well as an alternate storyline where the heroine stays with him throughout his pregnancy. [Purely for personal taste]
3. The heroine has a crush on the male lead's nephew early on, but it never becomes love. They reunite after a separation, and the matter means less to her than two pounds of chicken poop. The male lead cares about it, though.
4. The author is terrible, with the writing skills of a paramecium. I like writing workplace scenes, but only in theory. I don't know how many to write, since the main story hasn't started yet and I'm a terrible author.
5. Purely for personal taste: an older man has a child for love.
Theme: Love can't feed you, but it can be medicine
