Waking from a Daydream

A sick, flirtatious, stingy teacher x a taciturn, poker-faced commander who holds grudges

In 2143, the world order collapsed. After a strange blue rain fell, the entire planet was covered by mushroom forests filled with mycelium.

The only way humanity could break through the mushroom forests was to risk everything: enter on foot, get infected by the poisonous air, extract serum, and make antibodies. But for over a hundred years, those who dared to venture in either died along the way or took their last breath before they could reach the operating table.

The members of the final squad had been chosen.

When He Chuanxing saw Lin Shanzhi, who had a scaly tail, he was shocked and furious. Lin Shanzhi wasn't just his teacher: he was also the ex-boyfriend who had dumped him without a word!

Lin Shanzhi: “Long time no see, He Chuan. How's your back been holding up during these nine years I was gone?”

He Chuanxing: “Don't call me that, Lin Shanzhi. From now on, you're my partner, and I'm your commanding officer.”

The two ventured deep into the mushroom forest and managed to get infected before making a quick retreat, but both collapsed in front of the airlock.

When they woke again, they found themselves in a fantastical world spun from spiderwebs, forced to embark on an endless-stream survival ordeal.

A curse that forbids walking on two legs, a gambling city where human flesh and organs are the stakes, a ghost ship where taking the wrong door traps you in a loop, a seven-courtyard mansion shrouded in lies, a monkey king who loves eating human brains... Ten scenarios, a hundred days of adventure, picking up teammates along the way and sticking together when disaster strikes.

Lin Shanzhi: “He Chuanxing is my ex-boyfriend. We were already talking marriage, and I'm pursuing him again. I'll win him back sooner or later. As you can see, we'll be together again soon.”

He Chuanxing: “We were never talking marriage. Lin Shanzhi makes things up all the time. I suggest you stay on your guard.”

On the night they reconciled amid a sea of flowers, the two spent a wonderful night together.

He Chuanxing happened to find a slip of paper in the inner pocket of his protective suit. It had only three words on it:

Stay alive!

Lin: He Chuanxing, are you afraid to do it because you're worried I might be better than you?

He: Lin Shanzhi, you talk a better game than you can deliver.

PS:

One-on-one, both take turns on top. Whoever's right gets to be on top.

Each scenario takes ten chapters to complete, and the pace is fast. It's all dreams I've had myself; any resemblance is purely coincidental.

This is a new genre and a new field for me, so please be understanding.

Wishing everyone sweet dreams every night~

Theme: The survival of civilization is ultimately a test of resilience.
