He runs his tongue over his canine tooth and chuckles.

Rule three?

That's going to be hard.

Everyone warns him: Dai Xilan is a walking abyss, a forbidden existence no one should touch.

But Xie Yan Heng loves playing with fire, even if it means burning himself.

"And then?"

"It got thrown away."

"And then?"

"He brought another one and said, 'You throw one away, I'll bring another. Let's see if you can throw them out faster than I can bring them.'"

"...That's freaking awesome."

What no one knows is that, that night, Dai Xilan is sitting alone in his office.

He looks at the dinner on his desk, which he had "thrown away" but somehow reappeared.

After a long while, he raises a hand and lightly touches the tip of his ear, murmuring,

"You'll regret liking me..."

The spot still holds a trace of warmth from the way the other man leaned close to speak earlier that day.
