"It's me, Ni Qianyan. Do you remember your middle school classmate?"

A new message appeared, making Qiu Shuwen pause for a moment.

Ni Qianyan? A middle school classmate? Qiu Shuwen tried hard to remember, then finally decided to open the chat and reply with a question mark.

But once she opened it, she was in for a shock. The friend request had come from someone in her authors' group chat.

Had she been exposed? Or had someone doxxed her? This was terrifying.

"Let's meet outside the school tomorrow at three in the afternoon."

Ni Qianyan hadn't expected to run into her again, of all places, in an authors' group chat.

With an identity like this, anything she said was bound to make Qiu Shuwen suspicious.

After a long hesitation, Ni Qianyan finally opened the friend request and sent everything in one go. Then she waited quietly for Qiu Shuwen's verdict.

"How did you recognize me?"

Lying across Ni Qianyan's lap, Qiu Shuwen toyed with the strands of hair hanging over her chest. She couldn't help marveling at how the two of them had met again.

"Instinct. And you really do love to chat."

That inexplicable sense of familiarity made her pay close attention to every word Qiu Shuwen said. Piece by piece, she recognized her from her writing.

The heartless woman who had chatted with her until midnight every day during their first year of high school, then vanished without a trace six months later.
