*Tart Fruit
On the way home from school, leaves rustled in the trees. Song Wenjing's cheeks burned as he murmured, "I think I've fallen for someone..."
His childhood friend quietly breathed in the spreading scent of oranges and waited.
"He's the class monitor."
Song Wenjing looked troubled and poked his friend's arm. "I'll make him fall for me. Can you help?"
His childhood friend's body stiffened. "How?"
Song Wenjing's tone was cheerful, but his words were startling. "Could you practice kissing with me, and... other things too?"
After a long pause, his childhood friend nodded.
They had grown up together, and he could take care of everything for Song Wenjing like a devoted father.
So this request didn't really count as a request.
*Sweet Orange:
The class monitor was the "other people's good kid" everyone talked about.
He did everything meticulously, consistently ranked near the top of his class, and seemed unwilling to break any of the rules he'd set for himself.
One day during PE, he forgot his basketball in the classroom. When he unlocked the door, he heard intermittent, suggestive sounds from inside and stopped.
It was the voice of that boy in their class who buzzed around like a bee, always asking the competition-class students for help because he kept failing physics. Almost no one could refuse him.
The next day, he saw Song Wenjing blushing as he handed him a little note. His dark eyes were unfathomable, yet he smiled so sweetly.
He was taken aback, and the malice he'd suppressed for so long burst forth.
"Sure," he said slowly, briefly distracted by the sweet scent of the boy who had thrown himself on top of him.
So this was what it felt like.
*Sinking
Song Wenjing got together with the class monitor as he wished. Now it was time to get rid of his honest, old-fashioned childhood friend.
"I've been grateful to you all this time."
His tone was sincere and his expression guileless. They seemed like nothing more than ordinary friends.
"I finally got together with the class monitor. He said I'm a great kisser, and he almost died with me on top of him." He smiled shyly and flicked his childhood friend's ear. "This is the last time. We'll still be best friends."
"Is that so?" His childhood friend smiled too.
"But I've already ruined you." He sighed, his tall figure falling over Song Wenjing. "He really... doesn't know a thing?"
