In his previous life, Venerable Li He founded the Linyan Sect at the heart of a forest when he descended to the mortal realm a thousand years ago. A thousand years later, war between the Celestial Realm and the Demon Realm was on the brink of breaking out, dragging the five great mortal sects into the conflict. With the immortals gaining the upper hand, the mortal cultivators' powers were greatly diminished. Venerable Li He immediately rushed forward to block the attacks of Demon Lord Du Ming and defeated him.
After the war between the gods and demons, Emperor Ling Yuan descended to the mortal realm and founded the Ice Lotus Sect. He searched for Venerable Li He's spirit sword, Frost Sword, and never returned to the Celestial Realm.
