A money-grubbing, theatrical little peddler VS a gentle, reserved young nobleman
Alternate Tang-inspired setting / Love grows over time / Fake step-sibling romance / One-on-one, both devoted to each other / Historical romance, My Girl
Blurb One
Cui Yin, the Prince of Yongping's legitimate son, is a gentle and courteous official in the Ministry of Justice, as refined as jade.
Qian Qiqi is the most money-grubbing little peddler in the streets. She's good at calculating, good at acting, and full of schemes. To Cui Yin, she's a contemptible, conniving rogue.
But she happens to possess a token belonging to Cui Yin's missing younger sister.
He doesn't believe she's the one who saved his sister's life, so he takes her back to the Ministry of Justice and subjects her to harsh interrogation.
Yet when his mother is at death's door, he has no choice but to seek her out again.
When he first brings her to the Prince's residence, his mother tells him to look after her and make it clear to the servants that no one is to look down on her.
He says nothing of it, only remarking, "That black-hearted rogue needs to learn that earning a hundred strings of cash isn't so easy."
The day he hears Wei Xian confess his love to Qian Qiqi, every word feels like a dagger stabbing into him. Jealousy burns in his eyes, raging so fiercely that he screams and roars inside. His hands clench around her before he can stop himself.
At last, news of his real younger sister arrives. Avoiding everyone's eyes, he dares to move closer and whisper in her ear, "Still calling me big brother? Aren't you going to be my bride?"
Blurb Two
In public, Qian Qiqi is a money-grubbing drama queen. In private, she's generous and loyal. The only thing she loves in this life is gold and silver.
She once asked the old man at Xing Shan Temple, who had taught her all kinds of tricks, "Could I become fabulously rich one day?"
The old man stroked his beard. "You could become fabulously rich, but I'm afraid you'll suffer a romantic calamity."
She scoffed. "I, Qian Qiqi, don't love men, only money. What's a romantic calamity? I'll just pull it out by the roots!"
She is an orphaned girl from the streets, yet the only clue to his missing younger sister.
He is the Prince's legitimate son, yet helpless as his mother lies at death's door.
A single contract binds two people who can't stand each other.
When she first arrives at the Prince's residence, she badgers Cui Yin into writing a receipt. Suddenly she looks up and sees him smiling, the glow of the setting sun reflected in his eyes. A gentle light seems to surround him.
She swallows and lets her gaze wander over his jade-like face. "But... how can anyone be this handsome?"
When she first meets Su Xinyi, she sees her and Cui Yin standing together, their figures softened by the summer haze. Cui Yin is tall, handsome, and refined, while Su Xinyi is graceful and elegant. The two of them look like a perfect couple straight out of a painting.
Feeling inferior, she decides to leave. She doesn't know that on the night-banned streets, he breaks down and cries out before her "corpse";
that beneath the solemn, compassionate statue of Guanyin, one glance is enough to make him unable to hide his feelings, and he flees in panic;
that all his restraint and self-control will crumble.
When the mastermind finally emerges, when she is driven out of the Prince's residence, buried upheavals and cruel truths tear the world before them apart...
He abandons his gentleness and carefully plots each step, just to protect her in the vortex.
She cuts through her confusion and uses herself as bait, determined to fight for the truth and clear her name.
Coming soon: Censor, Do You Regret It Today?
Please add it to your reading list. The author is working hard to build up a stock of chapters.
Scheming, deep-minded powerful official x slow-to-realize beautiful young Taoist nun
Zhong Ruoheng has never made a miscalculation in his life.
Using Lilu, a little Taoist nun who longs to leave the clergy and loves fine clothes and hairpins, was meant to be the most detached move on his chessboard.
He teaches her the bearing of a noblewoman and gives her beautiful clothes, watching the dependence in her eyes grow.
Yet he doesn't even realize when he himself becomes caught in the game.
He personally sends her to the Duke of Wei's residence. Lilu looks back at him through tear-filled eyes, her gaze full of dependence. "I don't want to go."
He only smiles. "Be good. Go back."
It isn't until she overhears that she's nothing more than a "chess piece" that she understands.
Even so, she steals the evidence he has spent years searching for.
After that, she burns the fine clothes and jade hairpins he gave her.
She straightens her back and walks into the clinic, never looking back.
Later, Zhong Ruoheng avenges himself and gains power over the entire court. Yet on a day of heavy snowfall, he waits outside the newly opened clinic for three days and three nights.
The wind blows the window open. She sits in plain clothes, writing a prescription without even looking up. "I have no cure for your illness, Lord Zhong."
He answers hoarsely, "You've always been my cure."
"When you taught me to play chess, you said once a piece is played, there's no taking it back."
"But I regret it," he sobs uncontrollably.
Author's note: Intimate interactions only begin after their family relationship is dissolved.
Theme: There is always someone for whom you are willing, wholeheartedly, to endure anxiety and fear.
It's hard to believe that this is the author's first published work! Every character is vivid and the story is exciting. Looking forward to new articles!
This won't be Be Bar Tonic Be, but I looked back and saw that there was no one. The fourth child loved freedom but was forced to separate from Meng Ba and follow his sister's old path and was trapped in a high wall. Cui Sheng couldn't love the fourth child, and Wei Jian couldn't love Qiqi. Qiqi and Cui Yin had too many fateful mistakes. A Niang was even killed, and they were all little bitter gourds [heartbroken]
Have a good cry!!!! Evil feudalism. Such a great girl!
Unknowingly, I saw the finale. I'm looking for a side story about my appearance. Thank you so much.
Grandma is right, sure, but if grandma is gone, 😭 😭 😭 😭
Thank you to heaven, thank you to earth, thank you for your hard work~
The author is great. This book really grabbed me at the beginning. The words are well-chosen and the vague good feelings in the early stage are well written. However, in the middle and late stages, it became more and more like a modern romance with ancient proverbs. I hope the writing will get better and better, and I will still look forward to the next one, Spread the Flowers
Hey, suddenly I don't want to watch it 😭
After reading this chapter, I was filled with emotions. Is it almost over?
The male protagonist cried bitterly in the street about his low force value and failed to accomplish many things. He thought he was good to the female protagonist and took matters into his own hands. His style made him feel useless. What did the female protagonist and Su Xinyi like about him? The heroine is chasing after you here and crying: I can't live without you... I can't even see it. Their love affair is really delaying things. The enemy is currently inconsistent with the enemy and is still at war [covering face and crying]
