Warning: Raistlin x original female character
The story begins during the Soulforge period, when Raistlin is still a White Robe wizard and has yet to undergo the Test.
At seventeen, Gaxia set off on a long journey with her uncle. Crossing continents and oceans, she saw a world beyond magic schools and spellbooks:
Elves, dwarves, plainsfolk;
Silk, steel, fur;
Wealth and poverty; ancient beliefs and newly risen gods.
And fear.
Wizards were always considered unwelcome guests. Outside Palanthas, things were no different from within the city. Magic, the power that made her blood surge, brought her as much confusion and bewilderment as it had once brought her joy, as she faced a grander world.
Until the night she stayed in Haven.
She saw a stone carving of a viper twisting in the temple, flames in a sealed room, and glittering steel coins. She saw the priest's deceit and honeyed words. Here, magic was being used with malice, but not for the God of the Black Moon. It was being used for "Baalzebul."
There was only one person.
A young man in a black cloak used the same spell to tear through the lies. In the smoke-filled temple, beneath the reflection in the gleaming, mirror-like eyes of the serpent, Gaxia saw such courage and conviction for the first time.
Her heart was shaken.
Red, white, black.
The magic of March cast its gaze upon them.
Here and now.
