The Old Crooked Tree's Last Stand

On the nineteenth day of the third month in the seventeenth year of the Chongzhen reign of the Ming dynasty, the nation fell.

The Chongzhen Emperor hanged himself from a crooked tree on Coal Hill, giving his life for his country.

The emperor's blood soaked the tree for three years, and the nation's grief clung to it. Somehow, the tree gained spiritual awareness and became a female spirit.

Her name was Lin Xuanli. With a single thought, she returned to life, possessing the dying body of the Chongzhen Emperor and reversing time to return to the days before the dynasty's collapse.

Seated on the imperial throne, she faced the court's suspicion, pointed her sword at the heavens, and declared that she was an immortal cultivator sent by Heaven.

With a delicate touch, dead wood blossomed anew. At her word, thunder obeyed.

She would make every official at court cultivate with her!

Yet the spiritual veins of this world had long since been severed.

Her magic was water without a source, and each use depleted her essence. Before her lay the Qing army's cavalry, watching like hungry tigers. Behind her stood powerful ministers and eunuch factions, each with their own schemes.

Before this earth-shattering deception was exposed, she had to carve a path to survival for the dynasty from a desperate situation.

This was a desperate gamble against Heaven and humanity. Could she use a rotten body to rebuild the Ming into an immortal dynasty?

Theme: Fight Heaven. Fight humanity.
