I Became a Purchasing Agent in the 1980s

Mai Tang was an unemployed college graduate who had just finished school. After waking up one morning, she found that she had transmigrated to the 1980s.

She had nothing to her name except a social media System she had no idea how to monetize.

Mai Tang had always been the sort to take things as they came. Since she had ended up in the 1980s, she would find a way to make a good life for herself.

So she started using the System's features to film and edit videos, sharing little moments from her everyday life in a small, unremarkable city in the 1980s.

She never expected the videos to go viral.

"Aah, isn't that my hometown? I recognize that intersection. I passed by there on my way to elementary school! But didn't they expand it ages ago?"

"My mom used to use this brand of clam oil all the time. The smell brings back so many memories. Name your price, streamer. I'll buy ten tins!"

"I'd give up a month's salary if the streamer would try a bite of braised pork from that state-run restaurant and tell me if it still tastes the same!"

Mai Tang never imagined a casual video of hers would get over a hundred million likes. What she really hadn't expected was this:

[Beep. The System has detected sufficient purchase interest. Purchasing services are now available.]

And so, Double Happiness enamel tea mugs, the sturdy insoles the neighbor made, peach-flavored rice cakes sold on the street, as well as grain coupons, fabric coupons, and postage stamps all became items she could buy on behalf of her viewers.

Later on, she added plenty of other services.
