Also known as: Transmigrated into the golden finger of a Dragon Proud Hero
[Fortune's Chosen Dragon Proud Hero Devoted Gong x Alluring, Beautiful-Without-Knowing, Dull Shou]
Lu Moyao transmigrated into a book.
He became a cannon-fodder character who shared his name.
The System told him that the cannon fodder was the foremost beast tamer in the story, whose only purpose was to die and leave the Dragon Proud Hero a golden finger: an ancient divine beast egg.
To survive to the end, he rescued the Dragon Proud Hero, who had been badly injured and unconscious outside his home.
But when the other man opened his eyes, he knew nothing at all.
It turned out that Lu Moyao had knocked his head when dragging him home, giving him amnesia.
Lu Moyao: Heavens, I really didn't do it on purpose, qwq.
From then on, the protagonist stayed at Lu Moyao's place, more or less against his will. He watched Lu Moyao tend to the animals every day, and even cooked for him whenever he had time. As time passed, Lu Moyao began to depend on his closeness. Under Xun Sheng's care, the little courtyard was kept in perfect order.
During an outing, the two accidentally entered a secret realm. The protagonist regained his memories, but afterward he still lingered in Lu Moyao's little courtyard, refusing to leave. Only then did Lu Moyao finally realize: the protagonist wanted his golden finger.
"Is there something of mine you want?"
Xun Sheng stared at his mouth and nodded vigorously.
"When the time is right, it'll be yours."
The other man's eyes filled with excitement. "Do you mean it?"
"Of course."
Lu Moyao thought, Once I pack up and leave, the divine beast egg will be yours anyway.

Just then, the original plot's cannon-fodder death scene was brought forward, and the beast tide broke out early. Lu Moyao successfully faked his death and went off to enjoy the freedom he'd bought with his ill-gotten wages.
Who knows how long later, Lu Moyao gazed at the protagonist he'd longed for, not far away, and the little one in his arms who called Lu Moyao Dad. He was utterly bewildered.
Lu Moyao: I'm doomed.
He didn't die, but someone put him in a wedding dress. Lu Moyao asked, confused, "What are you doing?"
Xun Sheng replied expressionlessly, "Getting married."
Elder Lu, once mourned as a genius whose talent had been cut short by fate, was alive after all. Only then did everyone realize that the Immortal Venerable had fallen deeply in love with him.

Gong's POV
As the foremost disciple of Shuying Immortal Sect, Xun Sheng had a bright and unhindered path of cultivation ahead of him. But he was ambushed, and woke up having forgotten everything.
His benefactor was a strange man. For no apparent reason, he would go out and bring back lots of unfamiliar beasts. He would also come back blushing, with animal ears on his head, crouch on the ground, and talk to the animals he'd rescued.
His benefactor took meticulous care of the beasts, but couldn't look after himself. When Xun Sheng did what he thought were simple little things, Lu Moyao would look at him with shining eyes. As Xun Sheng gradually grew addicted to that expectant gaze and came to love their quiet, ordinary days, he even hoped that things could stay this way forever after he regained his memories...
But Lu Moyao turned his back on him and walked into the beast tide. Everyone thought he was certain to die, but A-Yao had left behind an egg: a divine beast egg that had already bonded with its master.
A-Yao had deceived him, but Xun Sheng could only feel happy. He thought he must be crazy.
And after forcing Lu Moyao to marry him, all he dared do was hold him each night.
This is fine too. We can be entwined until death, share life and death, and live forever together.

1. Both are pure in body and heart. Devoted dog gong, catlike shou; handsome gong, beautiful shou. Their feelings for each other are overwhelmingly mutual.
2. The shou is a block of wood, and a little slow when it comes to love.
3. Happy ending, sweet little story, absolutely no angst. Unless you count the gong flirting with a blind man early on.
4. If you don't like transmigration-into-a-book stories, feel free to check out the next one.
5. The little one hatched from the divine beast egg. He's a little golden dragon.
6. There's no forced love after he's brought back, just playful fun.
7. Neither the gong nor the shou is a perfect character.
8. Past and present lives, with lots of made-up details.
