She Came from the Sacred Mountain

Jiang Xun has a dream of making music.

Every night, he cradles a battered guitar at the Shichahai subway entrance and sings folk songs. The crowds surge past him, but to him they are like scenes in a revolving lantern, rushing by.

He notices that a girl in ethnic-style clothes comes by every night.

One day, he cannot resist setting down his guitar and walking up to her.

"Miss, thank you for liking my music."

"Let me give you my autograph."

Amid the din of the crowd, the young girl freezes for a moment.

Only then does Jiang Xun notice the tiny hearing aid at her ear, partly hidden by her chestnut hair.

Danzhu has been unable to hear since she was little, except in her dreams.

In her dreams are the snowy peaks of Gang Rinpoche, prayer flags dancing wildly across the sky, and a young man who takes her hand in desperate grief and says:

"Zhu Ya, find me in your next life."

"I'll sing for you again."

She decides to find him.

Legend has it that if someone with a sincere heart

lies deep in the heart of the snowy mountains and gazes into the auspicious Tianmu Lake,

they can see the past and present lives of themselves and their beloved.
