Lu Qisheng is twenty-five years old.
He doesn't want eternal life or crave wealth. His life so far has been utterly unremarkable, and his only wish is to know: Where did I come from?
The world before him isn't his world, and the people around him aren't his kind. His luck seems to be the worst imaginable. He's taken the wrong path.
Until one day, fate played a joke on him, too.
Lu Qisheng was pulled into a strange and dangerous game.
He met countless new people and crossed one shattered world after another, picking up fragments of warm lamps that may not have belonged to anyone he knew. His eyes reflected so many things: all the good and evil of humanity, all the struggles between life and death. They all became nourishment for the tree of life.
Lu Qisheng passed through collapsing cities, desolate sports fields, and dangerous labyrinths, all places that seemed strangely familiar. He asked the man who had traveled part of the way with him, "I've remembered my mission. Will you come with me?"
"Are you going back to where you came from?"
"I'll go with you."
The soul sank deeper with every game, and human reason dissolved into bubbles of illusion. Yet the torch of ideals never went out. It burned through the souls of those who came before, heating the cold, silent sea in the deepest part of the game.
On this long journey with no end in sight, Lu Qisheng finally learned how to love.
