A sharp-tongued businessman and a cool, aloof dancer: who will give them back their best years?
In the eyes of the world, they're "madmen," but to each other, they're "the light of dawn."
01
That day, Leng Qing had just finished rehearsal with her dance troupe. Her partner glanced at the ring on her left ring finger and asked, "Qingqing, are you married?"
Leng Qing looked down at the ring. She'd been so tired after returning from the old residence yesterday that she'd forgotten to take it off. In a flat tone, she said, "I've been married for two years, but he died in a car accident not long after we got married."
At the time, Oubo heard every word. When they got home, he couldn't resist mocking her. "The dance troupe's lead dancer, whose husband died? If the Ou family held a funeral, everyone in Jingbei City would know. So why have I never heard of one?"
Leng Qing smiled faintly, her eyes empty of emotion. "Oh, we've been married for two years, but you lived abroad the whole time. We haven't met once, had a single phone call, or exchanged a word. How was I supposed to tell anyone I was married? What could I say besides that you were dead? That I'm unhappily married to a playboy? You may have no shame, but I still do."
Oubo's perspective
A friend asked, "So, why did you marry her? You could've married a rich heiress from a family on your level, but instead you brought home a cool goddess and treated her like a princess."
Oubo replied, "She's not materialistic, she's cold, and she leaves me alone. I just have to give her some pocket money once a month. She wouldn't care if I died out there."
So she got angry and maxed out his card. He gave her an amused look. "Have I spoiled you so much that you've started throwing tantrums?"
She said nothing, so that day he saw on her computer the search, "If my husband dies, how much of his money can I inherit?"
Turns out he'd married a temperamental little tyrant. What could he do? Spoil her, of course.
Leng Qing's perspective
Leng Qing: "Oubo, we were so in love when we were dating. Why did you stop loving me after we got married?"
Oubo: "I've given you the dignity a wife deserves and fulfilled my responsibilities as a husband. What, did I marry a princess instead of a wife?"
Leng Qing: "Oubo, I want a divorce."
Oubo: "There is no divorce, only widowhood. If you want a divorce, you'll have to wait until I'm dead."
